- A.
This organization is called "Dudjom Buddhist Association International
Limited" (hereinafter called "This association").
- B. The
registered office of this association is in the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region, China.
- C. This
association is registered as a non-profit, charitable religious organization
under the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China
and does not involve in any kind of political activities.
- D. The
aims of this association are :
- (a)
To promote and support the faith of the Buddhist religion, and
to promote, support and to study Buddhism in all or any of its
branches.
- (b)
To help and perform services at the Buddhist shrine or altar for
the dead in the forms devised by the Buddhist faith or for the
purpose of initiating disciples.
- (c)
To invite great spiritual masters of the Buddhist faith to preach
or lecture or to give talks and courses on any topics of Buddhism,
including meditation and other practices.
- (d)
To print and publish any newspapers, periodicals, books and brochures
that the Association may think desirable for the promotion of
its objects.
- (e)
To translate important Buddhist scriptures and sadhanas of Tibetan
Buddhism.
- (f)
To establish, conduct and carry on at any place or places within
the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region non-profit homes for
the aged, non-profit retreat centres and other non-profit facilities
and activities in order to promote the practices of Buddhism and
all other related charitable activities in helping society and
its members.
- (g)
To do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive
to the attainment of the above objects.
- E. The
income and property of the Association, whencesoever derived, shall
be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects of the Association
as set forth herein, and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred
directly or indirectly, by way of dividend, bonus or otherwise howsoever,
by way of profit to the persons who at any time have been or are members
of the Association or any or either of them. Provided that nothing
herein contained shall prevent the payment in good faith of remuneration
or salary to any employees or employee, servants or servant or to
any other persons in return for services actually rendered. No member
of the Board of Directors or of the Management Committee of the Association
shall be appointed to any salaried office of the Association, or any
office of the Association paid by fees and no remuneration or other
benefit in money or money's worth shall be given by the Association
to any member of the Board of Directors or of the Management Committee,
except for the reimbursements to any member of the Board of Directors
or of the Management Committee for out-of-pocket expenses.
